On September 26th, the "丹心壮山河 - '心联通 云南行' 南洋机工历史图片展" was successfully held at the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore and organized by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Foreign Friends, with the implementation of the Yunnan Provincial Trade Representative Office in Singapore and the Kunming City Museum. More than 120 guests, including Cao Zhongming, the Ambassador of China to Singapore, Chen Liren, the great-grandson of Mr. Chen Jiaqing, the descendants of the South China Aluminum Workers and members of the "Flying Tigers", and guests from all walks of life in China and Singapore, attended the event. The Yunnan Provincial Association for Foreign Friends and the Kunming City Museum sent representatives to participate.
Ambassador Cao Zhongming said in his speech that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world's anti-fascist war. Reviewing the history of the overseas Chinese who came to China to help during the war and commemorating the sacrifices and contributions of our ancestors is to defend the truth of history, uphold a correct, objective and comprehensive view of the history of World War II, warn the present, inspire the future, and educate our descendants to cherish the peace won by the blood and lives of our ancestors.
Yang Sheng, a second-class inspector of the Fujian Provincial Association for Foreign Friendship, said that looking back at history, the hard-won peace includes the participation and dedication of the South China Overseas Chinese Automobile Drivers and Mechanics. The purpose of this photo exhibition is to pay tribute to this group of the South China Overseas Chinese Automobile Drivers and Mechanics, who should not be forgotten, and to express our desire to remember history and guard peace together.
Chen Hao, the director of the Kunming City Museum, fully introduced the heroic deeds of the Nanyang Machinery Workers who used their flesh and blood to carry the "un沉补给线" on the Yunnan-Burma Highway, and the guests from China and Singapore jointly visited the photo exhibition.
The "Heart to Heart, Yunnan Journey" exhibition of historical photos of the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Association's engineering staff in Singapore is divided into seven parts: "Wolf Smoke", "Sincere Heart", "Looking Back at Nanyang", "Gathering in Kunming", "Hot Blood in Yunnan and Myanmar", "Singapore and the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Association's Engineering Staff", and "Reconstruction of the Southward Return". Through precious historical photos, it presents a comprehensive view of the history of the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Association's engineering staff. By the end of the year, the photo exhibition will continue to be displayed to the public in the Consular Service Hall of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore.
