Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

On March 7, the Provincial Foreign and Friendship Association held the second executive (expanded) meeting of the first council, announced the election of Zhang Shijin, Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and President of the Provincial Foreign and Friendship Association, as the new president of the first council, reviewed the addition of the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, the Provincial Association of Enterprises and Institutions, and Yunnan Vocational College of Transportation as institutional council members, and formulated and deployed the key tasks for 2024. The meeting was attended by Xu Sisi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and part-time vice president of the council; Hou Sheng, Vice President of the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences; Yan Ming, Vice President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics; as well as representatives of some institutional council members and invited council members such as Yang Haitao and Jin Feibao. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yu, full-time vice president and full-time council vice president of the Provincial Foreign and Friendship Association.

In his speech, Chairman Zhang Shijin stated that he will wholeheartedly and responsibly act as a bridge to expand the public-private foreign friendly exchange work for all board members and provide excellent services. With the joint efforts of the institutional board members and individual board members, he will implement the work arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and push the public-private foreign exchange work of the entire province to a new level. He emphasized that in carrying out the public-private foreign exchange work of Yunnan Province in the new era, it is necessary to properly manage the relationships between responsibility and benefit, words and actions, supply and demand, doing and speaking, unity and division, and government and public. It should maximize the mobilization of diverse public-private entities, unify and integrate the advantageous resources of various industries and fields, and promote the branding and standardization of public-private foreign exchange activities such as the "Heart Connects, Yunnan Travels" project. This will create a favorable external environment and provide strategic support for the economic and social development of the entire province, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the advancement of Chinese modernization.

At the meeting, part-time Vice Presidents Xu Sisi, Hou Sheng, and Yan Ming, along with specially invited council members Jin Feibao and representatives from Yunnan University Hospital, the Provincial Red Cross Society, Yunnan Jian Tou Group, the Provincial Alternative Planting Association, the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Kunming Municipal Association for Foreign Exchange and Friendship, shared their experiences and insights on private foreign exchange, and exchanged views and offered suggestions on the council's key tasks for 2024 in light of their respective fields of work.

This meeting achieved the objectives of clarifying the direction, consolidating strength, and boosting morale, providing a solid guarantee for the successful execution of the 2024 work of the Provincial Council for Foreign Friendship and Exchange.
