Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

According to the youth mutual visit and exchange mechanism between Yunnan Province and Iwate Prefecture in Japan, a delegation of 18 young people from Iwate Prefecture visited Yunnan Province from October 13 to 20, 2025.

On October 14th, Wang Yu, the full-time vice president of the Provincial Foreign Friends Association, Li Jianbin, the deputy director of the Provincial Committee for the Care of the Next Generation, Duan Shengzhong, the deputy secretary of the Provincial Youth League Committee, and Shao Weiqing, the vice president of Yunnan Nationalities University, attended the welcome dinner and jointly awarded the "Certificate of Participation in International Youth Exchange Activities" to the teenagers of Iwate County.

Wang Yu briefly introduced the open, green, and developing Yunnan, and It is hoped that the youth of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, will have a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the beauty of Yunnan's mountains and rivers and the charm of its culture through this visit, comprehend the historical origins of the friendly exchanges between China and Japan, and share their experiences, feelings, and insights with more relatives and friends, striving to become the main force and promoters of the friendly relations between China and Japan and between Miyagi Prefecture and Yunnan Province.

Shao WeiqingIt is believed that the youth-to-youth and teacher-to-teacher exchanges between Yunnan Minzu University and its affiliated high school and Iwate Prefecture in Japan have borne fruitful results through their participation in the mechanism exchange program of Yunnan Province and Iwate Prefecture, witnessing the growing power of people-to-people friendship between the two countries and two places. The youth dialogue across language and cultural barriers is enough to allow more seeds of Sino-Japanese friendship to take root, sprout, and bear fruit.

The delegation leader, Vice Principal Shinya Yamada of the Nanchang Future High School in Akita Prefecture, reviewed the achievements made in the past three years since the recovery of face-to-face communication among adolescents after the pandemic. He stated that youth mechanism exchanges are significant for building platforms to understand each other's history, culture, education, and industries, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and deepening friendship.
