Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

On the afternoon of June 13, a 16-member Singapore Business China Youth Delegation visited the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Full-time Vice President Wang Yu exchanged views with the delegation on strengthening educational cooperation between Yunnan and Singapore, youth exchanges and other areas.

Wang Yu welcomed the delegation to Yunnan and introduced "There is a kind of life called Yunnan". She said that in November 2023, the Provincial Friendship Association invited China Business Network to send young people to participate in the 2023 Northeast Asia Youth Training Camp Yunnan Division activities. The two sides have established good working relations. The Provincial Friendship Association is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China Business Network to promote Yunnan-Singapore friendly exchanges and cooperation in education, economy and trade, youth exchanges and other fields to achieve positive results.

Wang Nanni, manager of Business China Journey to the East, said that in order to enhance understanding of China and deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields, Business China has set up a special "Journey to the East" work department and sends a youth delegation to visit China every year.

The delegation members included young entrepreneurs and government officials, most of whom were college students, some of whom were studying at Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore, and some of whom had studied at Peking University and Fudan University. They used keywords such as "eye-opening", "refreshing", "colorful", "delicious", and "lingering" to describe their true feelings when visiting Yunnan. "I have seen 'a place with wind', and Yunnan's secluded civilization is well-deserved", "I am a backpacker, and wherever I go, only Yunnan has perfectly integrated natural scenery with humanistic qualities", "Yunnan's preservation and inheritance of ethnic minority culture is worth learning from Singapore", "I like Yunnan's food, and the Yunnan on the tip of my tongue makes me linger", "I enjoy the process of climbing Yulong Snow Mountain, and I appreciate the concrete actions of the Naxi people to protect the environment, respect nature, and care for the snow-capped mountains"........

With the coordination of the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the delegation visited Lijiang City and Kunming City, and carried out exchange activities with Kunming Pharmaceutical Group, Yunnan Energy Investment Group, Yunnan Agricultural Reclamation Group, Yunnan University, Kunming University of Science and Technology and other units.

Singapore Business China was jointly launched by then Premier Wen Jiabao and Singapore's founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in November 2007. It aims to cultivate young Chinese and Singaporean bilingual and bicultural talents and build a bridge connecting China with the rest of the world in terms of culture, economy and trade.
