He is from Laos, chasing his dream in Yunnan . His name is Wen Pengyu, and he is a doctoral candidate at Yunnan University. In more than 6 years in China, he not only completed his studies, started his career, but also became a son-in-law in Yunnan; he witnessed the friendship between Laos and China, and felt the development and changes of the southwestern border of China. Today, let us walk into the story of "Meeting China" by Dr. Wen Pengyu from Laos.

"I am very excited to try the Hulk train. Speaking Lao and English, I feel very friendly when I get on the train..." On December 3 last year, the China-Laos Railway opened for operation. As the first batch of passengers after the railway was officially opened to traffic, Wen Pengyu couldn't hide his excitement. He said that this railway has become a "road to happiness" connecting Laos and China.

Wen Pengyu said: "There was no During the China-Laos Railway, it took me more than 20 hours to get to my home by bus from Kunming. Now with the China-Laos Railway, I can get home in more than 10 hours, which is very convenient. The opening of the China-Laos Railway allows Laos to travel from ' The "land-locked country" has become a "land-linked country", which has brought new opportunities and new developments to Laos' transportation, tourism, and other industries."

In 2015, Wen Pengyu came to China from Laos to study for a master's degree at Yunnan University. Before coming to China, he studied Chinese in Laos for three months. Wen Pengyu said that with the in-depth development of Laos-China relations and increasingly close exchanges and cooperation in various fields, learning Chinese has become a "plus point" for Lao young people's employment. "In recent years, people doing business in Laos have more contacts with companies in China, and work units also need Chinese-speaking employees, so more and more young people in Laos are learning Chinese."

After graduating with a master's degree, Wen Pengyu stayed in Yunnan to develop. Here, he met love and started a family. He has always carried his own "entrepreneurship dream". After some investigation, he quickly found a breakthrough: he liked to cook since he was a child, and he is from Laos, so why not try to open a Lao restaurant? As a result, an online restaurant "Boqiao Kitchen" named after his hometown was officially opened. He then opened a courier receiving station with his wife.

Wen Pengyu said: "China's I think the development of the online economy has a good prospect, especially as online consumption is increasing, and I think there is still room for opening online restaurants."

Today, Wen Pengyu enjoys life in Yunnan. In his spare time, he would walk into the big and small villages on the border of Yunnan to see the beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers. In the small town of Nakeli in Pu'er, Wen Pengyu left his first volunteer experience in a Hope Primary School there: he drew and danced with the children, and told stories about the friendship between Laos and China. He also visited the local villages to learn how to develop the local characteristic economy and make the villages move from poverty to prosperity.

Wen Pengyu said: "They attract More young people return to their hometowns to start businesses. Some of them do food (business), some do tea (business), some do live broadcasts and sell goods, and now they have more income. I think Laos should learn from China, Pay attention to rural development, let more tourists travel to the countryside, or help villagers sell their products, so that the village will develop better and better."

As the only province bordering China and Laos, in recent years, Yunnan and Laos have supported each other and developed together in education, medical care and other fields. A model of harmony and win-win in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin. Wen Pengyu, a Lao youth living in Yunnan, also witnessed the continuous deepening of exchanges and cooperation between Laos and China in various fields.

Wen Pengyu introduced: "Over 60 years Since then, the people of China and Laos have helped each other and are good neighbors. Over the years, our two countries have also cooperated in many projects, building a community of shared future between China and Laos, as well as the 'Belt and Road' initiative, RCEP... I think it will help Laos Many, especially Lao products can 'go out', because the Chinese market is very large. I hope that the two countries will have more cooperation and more projects in the future. For our youth, whether you are working or starting a business, The future is very good."

Now, Wen Pengyu has returned to Yunnan University to continue his doctoral studies. He wants to keep "recharging" himself so that he can better keep pace with China's development in the future. He said: "I hope that China's development will achieve better results and bring more development and surprises to the world."
