On the evening of January 13, the "Wenshan·Good Neighborly" 2025 China-Vietnam cultural exchanges and border people's gala series of activities were launched in Malipo County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. From now until the end of February, border residents from China and Vietnam will gather in Wenshan City, Malipo County, Maguan County and other places in Wenshan Prefecture to sing friendship songs together in the New Year.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the "Year of People-to-People Exchanges between China and Vietnam". Malipo County is located in the southeast of Wenshan Prefecture, bordering Vietnam. The border is 272 kilometers long. There is a national first-class Tianbao Port in the territory.

With the theme of "Singing Friendship Songs and Creating a Future Together", this border event includes a series of activities such as talks between Chinese and Vietnamese local government delegations, China-Vietnam media exchanges, China-Vietnam young talent exchanges, China-Vietnam Huashan Festival, and China-Vietnam economic and trade enterprise docking.

He Lianghui, vice chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said that in the past two years, China and Vietnam have signed more than 30 cooperation documents through border residents' gatherings. In order to continue to enhance the friendship between people on the China-Vietnam border, we hope that everyone will visit each other at the grassroots level like relatives, strengthen cooperation in industry, ports, customs clearance, etc., and achieve common development.

“The foundation of Vietnam-China relations lies in the people, and culture is the bridge connecting the friendship between Vietnam and China.” Huang Jialong, member of the Standing Committee of the Ha Giang Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Vietnam, said, “This time we jointly organized a series of cultural exchange activities with Van Son Prefecture to promote the Practical cooperation will continue to move forward, and we also hope that both parties will work together to organize the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges in Ha Giang Province.”

In the 2025 China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange and Border People’s Gala, performances with cultural characteristics of the two countries, such as the song and dance "Flowers Blooming in China", the Vietnamese Kinh dance "Vietnam My Hometown", the Vietnamese folk song "Little Bamboo", etc. were performed in turn. The actors performed on the same stage, made friends with each other through singing, conveyed their feelings through dancing, and sang the song of friendship between China and Vietnam.

"This grand party has brought the people of the two countries closer together through singing and dancing. I wish the friendship between Vietnam and China will be passed down from generation to generation and never fade." said Pham Wan Thanh, a young Vietnamese at the party.

The event was co-sponsored by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of China, the People's Government of Wenshan Prefecture, the People's Committee of Ha Giang Province of Vietnam, and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming.
