On May 30, the plenary (expanded) meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Foreign Affairs Work Committee was held in Kunming to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's diplomatic thoughts and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his inspection of Yunnan, conscientiously implement the deployment of the Central Peripheral Work Conference, study and arrange key tasks, and emphasize the need to deepen the understanding of the important mission that Yunnan undertakes, accelerate the construction of a radiation center for South Asia and Southeast Asia, and better serve the overall situation of the country's surrounding work.

Wang Ning, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Party Committee Foreign Affairs Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Governor and Deputy Director of the Committee Wang Yubo conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements, the spirit of the Central Peripheral Work Conference and relevant documents. Shi Yugang, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee and deputy director of the committee, and Liu Xiaokai, chairman of the provincial CPPCC, attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed relevant documents of our province, listened to the province's external work situation and the work reports of relevant departments and prefectures (cities), and fully affirmed the achievements made in various work in recent years.

The meeting stressed  

We must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Central Peripheral Work Conference, unify our thoughts and actions with the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, accurately grasp Yunnan’s positioning, role and opportunities, accelerate the construction of a radiation center, make Yunnan’s contribution to the building of a neighboring community with a shared future, and firmly support the “two establishments” and resolutely implement the “two safeguards” with practical actions.
The meeting stressed  

We must actively serve and integrate into the national development strategy, continuously deepen the construction of radiation centers, and firmly implement all tasks. We must create a model for development of good neighbors along the border, a model for shared development of China-Laos Railway, and a model for green development of the Lancang-Mekong River Basin. We must maintain close and friendly exchanges, deepen exchanges between high-level, private, business, overseas Chinese, youth, etc., and continuously expand the "circle of friends". A number of development projects should be implemented, and cooperation should be strengthened for mutual benefit and win-win situations should be strengthened around transportation and logistics, foreign trade and foreign investment, green energy, digital information, cross-border agriculture, cultural tourism, etc. We must establish a number of exchange brands, continue to run "national schools" and "national hospitals", and promote "Study in China and study in Yunnan", and implement more "small but beautiful" projects in the fields of education, medical care, poverty reduction and other fields. We must improve our open development capabilities, make good use of open platforms such as the "Belt and Road", Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, and RCEP, strengthen outward-oriented enterprises, expand ports and parks, and achieve higher-level open development.

We must strengthen the Party’s overall leadership, deepen the reform of the system and mechanism of local foreign affairs work in our province, build a strong cadre and talent team, integrate forces and optimize functions, strengthen departmental coordination and cooperation, take the initiative to think, work hard, and look at the results, and work together to promote the construction of radiation centers to continuously achieve new results.
