Yunnan Province and the "Flying Tigers Friendship School" in Texas, the United States, met online and offline
In April 2024, under the joint promotion of Yunnan Provincial Friendship Association and the US-China Aviation Heritage Foundation, Kunming Foreign Language School, Dali Xiangyun No. 2 Middle School and Dallas International Leadership School in Texas, USA signed a memorandum online to jointly join the "Flying Tigers Friendship School and Youth Leadership Program". Recently, a group of 20 teachers and students from Dallas International Leadership School in Texas, USA, visited Yunnan with the youth delegation organized by the US-China Aviation Heritage Foundation to participate in the 2024 Chinese Bridge-"Flying Tigers" themed American Youth Summer Camp in China.
On July 3, the delegation visited the "Flying Tigers Friendship School" Kunming Foreign Language School. Young people from both places gathered together to review the history of the Flying Tigers and the Hump Spirit. In the precious video of the Flying Tigers veterans visiting Yunnan, they recalled the deep friendship between the Chinese and American soldiers and civilians fighting side by side, and looked forward to the bright future of the younger generation continuing the friendship between China and the United States.
Green, chairman of the US-China Aviation Heritage Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the Yunnan Provincial Friendship Association for its matchmaking and the US-China Aviation Heritage Foundation for jointly promoting Kunming Foreign Language School, Dali Xiangyun No. 2 Middle School and Texas Dallas International Leadership School to join the "Flying Tigers Friendship School and Youth Leadership Program". This visit is the first visit of the Texas International Leadership School to Yunnan since the online signing of the two parties, and it has realized the offline meeting between teachers and students of the two schools. Chairman Green sent a message to the young people in Yunnan and the United States to be the bond of friendship between China and the United States and pass on the spirit of the Flying Tigers from generation to generation.
On the playground, students performed "rope skipping" in a lively manner. In the fields of the "Happy Farm", students explored the secrets of plant growth and picked fruits and vegetables by hand, which yielded a rich harvest. Students carefully made "Flying Tigers" friendship cards, wrote down their feelings about the trip, and wrote "Forever Friends", "Unforgettable Journey", "Most Beautiful Campus" and their signatures, freezing their friendship in this moment of mutual understanding and understanding.
