"HeartConnect Yunnan Trip" solar street light project in Daktan Town, Yangon was officially handed over

The handover ceremony of the "Heart-to-Yunnan Trip" solar street light project in Daktan Township, Yangon, hosted by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organized and implemented by the Yunnan Provincial Commercial Representative Office in Myanmar, was recently held in Yangon, Myanmar. Liu Yong, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, Soe Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Province of Myanmar, Cao Jing, Minister Counselor of the Embassy in Myanmar, and other Chinese and Myanmar officials as well as representatives of project implementers and donors attended the event.



The project installs 40 sets of solar street lights on the roads in Dakeyang Town. Every time night falls, the street lights light up, improving the nighttime lighting conditions in local public places. Local people and merchants said that solar street lights save municipal electricity bills, provide great convenience for people to travel at night, enhance the overall image of the community while effectively reducing traffic safety risks, improving the public security environment, and assisting the green development of the community.

Thank you letter from Myanmar

At the handover ceremony, Wu Tinglun, the head of the northern village of No. 10, Dakeyang Town, also specially submitted a letter of thanks to the Chinese side. The project not only brings light to the local community, but also adds new luster to China-Myanmar friendship.

"Heart Connect Yunnan Tour" is a series of "small but beautiful" people's livelihood public welfare projects implemented by Yunnan Province in countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean Rim. Since 2022, a total of 34 projects have been implemented in Myanmar, covering infrastructure, industrial development, agricultural science and technology , culture and education, drinking water safety, environmental protection, disaster response and many other fields, Yunnan has made contributions to continuously deepening the Paukphaw friendship between China and Myanmar and jointly building a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
