Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

On March 27, the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held the third executive director (expanded) meeting of the first council, informed Yang Shaocheng, director of the Provincial Foreign Countries Office and president of the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was elected as the new president of the first council, reviewed and added 7 new councils, listened to the Council's work report in 2024, studied and deployed key work tasks in 2025, and issued the "Selected Excellent Work Cases of Unit Directors". The meeting was chaired by Wang Yu, full-time vice president of the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Affairs and full-time vice president of the Board of Directors. More than 80 people attended the meeting online and offline through the part-time vice president of the Board of Directors and other executive directors, Jin Feibao and other special invited directors, as well as representatives of the unit directors.

Yang Shaocheng conveyed and studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on civil diplomacy and the spirit of his important speech during his inspection of Yunnan, and put forward specific requirements for further improving the relevant work of the Council. He pointed out that in the past year, the directors of various units have taken active actions, carried out private foreign exchanges in all aspects, at multiple levels and in a wide range of fields, deepened the friendship between the people of Yunnan and the people of all countries in the world, and continued to expand practical cooperation in various fields. The work of the Council has highlights and characteristics, and is remarkable, making positive contributions to serving the diplomacy of major powers with Chinese characteristics and the construction of a radiation center for South Asia and Southeast Asia.He demanded that the Council should be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially Xi Jinping's diplomatic thought, and under the strong leadership of the provincial party committee and government, effectively improve its political stance, continuously enhance the political nature, advanced nature and mass nature of the Council, continue to promote mutual understanding between the people, focus on deepening practical cooperation, take the initiative to think, and work hard, and use better work achievements to create new situations, write a new chapter, and create new glory for the civil diplomatic work in our province.

Based on the actual work of this department, Mou Hongcao, Jin Feibao, the Provincial Sports Bureau, the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, the Provincial Overseas Student Association, the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Yunnan Transportation Vocational College, Yunnan Radio and Television Station, and the Yunnan Zhenghe Research Association made exchange speeches and put forward opinions and suggestions on the Council’s key tasks in 2025.

This meeting achieved the purpose of unifying thoughts, clarifying directions, and gathering our hearts and minds, providing strong guarantees for the directors of all units to work in the same direction, support, complement each other, and coordinate the implementation of key tasks in 2025.
