Question: We have learned that after the earthquake in Afghanistan, the Chinese government promised to provide a batch of emergency humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, which will be specially used to help Afghanistan fight the earthquake. Disaster relief, could you tell us about the progress of the assistance?

Answer: The earthquake on June 22 was the most serious earthquake in Afghanistan in more than 20 years. People were injured, more than 3,000 houses were destroyed, and the death toll is still rising. After the earthquake, the Chinese government decided to provide 50 million yuan of emergency humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, including tents, towels, folding beds and other materials urgently needed by the Afghan victims. In the next step, China will closely coordinate with the interim government of Afghanistan to ensure that relief supplies are delivered to the victims as soon as possible to help the Afghan people tide over the current difficulties.

We firmly believe that with the united efforts of the Afghan interim government and all walks of life, and with the joint help of the international community, the people in the disaster-stricken areas will be able to overcome difficulties at an early date, speed up the reconstruction of their homes, and resume normal production and life.
