Kunming, September 28 (Xinhua Net, Luojie) - The "Yunnan in the Last Decade" series of press conferences, including a special session on the Communist Youth League, was held in Kunming on the 28th. Reporters learned from the conference that Yunnan will strengthen cultural and human exchanges and in-depth cooperation between its youth and those of neighboring countries, deeply expand its international "circle of friends" among youth, and actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the construction of China's radiation center towards South and Southeast Asia.

Tang Yuan, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, introduced that over the past decade, the Communist Youth League of Yunnan has continuously promoted friendly exchanges between Yunnan and youth from neighboring countries. It has actively integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of China as a radiating center towards South and Southeast Asia, continuously organizing youth exchanges along the Lancang-Mekong River, China-ASEAN youth entrepreneur exchanges, and friendly meetings between Chinese and Lao youth. It has also held the "Youth Tour Celebrating the Full Operation of the China-Laos Railway", the Yun-Hong-Macau-Taiwan Youth Roundtable Conference, and continuously hosted the 9th Shangri-La Youth Forum. It has also continuously organized cultural weeks for international students and social practice weeks for Chinese and foreign university students, telling the Chinese story and promoting Chinese culture.

Zhao Panfeng, Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, stated that in the course of carrying out youth volunteer work in Yunnan, the Communist Youth League of Yunnan has actively and positively showcased the characteristics of Yunnan youth volunteers to the nation and the world. It organized volunteer service support for the first phase of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and repeatedly provided volunteer services for major events such as the China-ASEAN Expo, the China International Tourism Expo, the China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, and the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Forum, dispatching and training a total of over 20,000 volunteers.

Tang Yuan stated that in the next step, the Yunnan Communist Youth League will always serve the overall situation, becoming a vanguard force to organize the permanent struggle of Yunling youth. It will continue to carry out various youth exchange activities, strengthen the cultural and humanistic exchanges and in-depth cooperation between Yunnan youth and youth from neighboring countries and Belt and Road countries, deeply expand the international "circle of friends" of Yunnan youth, and actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of China as a radiating center for South and Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, the Yunnan Communist Youth League will also focus on the key tasks of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, continuously deepening and expanding the action of building achievements through youth. It will continue to carry out a series of ecological and environmental volunteer service activities, and actively participate in building ecological civilization pioneers. It will further unite its efforts to promote industrial development. It will strengthen vertical communication and horizontal coordination, and continuously connect with the implementation of ongoing investment attraction projects. It will increase support for the construction of youth innovation parks and improve their digital levels. It will fully leverage the advantages of the Youth League and youth-enterprise associations to assist in industrial transformation and upgrading, and to help multiply market entities, thereby contributing to economic and social development.
