From May 25 to 27, 2025, a college student delegation from the Japan China Cultural Exchange Association visited Yunnan. In just a few days, these young Japanese faces shuttled through the streets and alleys of Kunming, touching a real three-dimensional Yunnan in the fragrance of Dounan Sea of Flowers, the technical experience of the University of Nationalities, the visit of the picture exhibition of the Friendship City, and the fireworks of Guandu Ancient Town.

On May 26, Wang Yu, full-time vice president of the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Affairs, held a work exchange with Chiyo Kato, the head of the delegation and the permanent member of the Japan China Cultural Exchange Association. Wang Yu introduced the colorful, open and developing Yunnan, and said that the Yunnan Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is willing to build more youth-friendly bridges and enhance the understanding and friendship between the younger generation of China and Japan. Chiyo Kato said that he has been committed to China-Japan friendship for a long time and hopes that the youth of the two countries will strengthen exchanges and promote mutual understanding among the people. Japanese youth representatives shared what they saw, heard and felt during this trip. They said that this visit interacted with college students of the same age in Yunnan, not only felt Yunnan's unique humanistic charm, but also learned from Yunnan's youth and got to know each other.
