Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

With the support and guidance of the Yunnan Provincial Committee for International Friendship, the "Heart to Heart, Yunnan Visit" border village chief tour of Yunnan was successfully held in Ning'er County, Pu'er City from June 16th to 19th, 2025. Representatives from 7 administrative villages in Namta County, Laos, including 15 village cadres and outstanding entrepreneurial youth, participated.

The activities took various forms, including organizing Lao representatives to visit villages, industrial parks, processing factories, and planting and breeding bases in Ning'er Town for on-site learning, participating in training on livestock farming and epidemic prevention, fruit and vegetable planting and pest control, exchanging views with Ning'er Town civil affairs cadres, re-tracing the "Silk Road" of a hundred years, learning the skills of hand-poured coffee of Pu'er, so that the chairmen of the border villages in Laos had a new understanding of rural governance, beautiful courtyard construction, and industrial planning in China, and had a comprehensive understanding of the current situation of the characteristic industries in Ning'er County.

The Lao participants all expressed that the in-depth study and investigation in Ning'er County at the grassroots level have yielded rich results, learning valuable development experiences from China, and looking forward to more in-depth and practical exchanges and cooperation with Ning'er County in the future in the fields of rural revitalization, industrial development, and park construction.

Khamla Laysayat, the acting governor of Nantakhoua County in Laos, stated that through this "See Yunnan" event, not only has the friendship between Nantakhoua and Ning'er counties been enhanced, but the border village heads of Nantakhoua County have also learned advanced development experiences from Ning'er, which they will apply to promote rural development in Laos. They look forward to further deepening cooperation in economic and trade exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, and agricultural development, and to achieve win-win results together.

Mise Pima Sun, a member of the delegation, said that Chinese friends are warm and friendly, the Chinese people are hardworking and brave, and the transportation in rural China is convenient, with "every village connected" policy being enviable.

In December 2023, Nantao County and Ning'er County, both located along the China-Laos Railway, signed an intention letter to establish friendly city relations, laying a solid foundation for mutual cooperation and exchanges. This "Heart to Heart, Yunnan Journey" border village chief visit to Yunnan is a solid step taken by the two counties to deepen friendly city exchanges and expand cooperation in agriculture, economy and trade, talent, and other fields. It is also a vivid practice of proactively serving and integrating into the construction of the China-Laos community of shared future, making the outcomes of high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road" more tangible and accessible.
