Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

In order to deeply tell the story of China's rural revitalization and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' assistance, and to publicize the achievements of Yunnan's economic and social development, the Consulate General in Nagoya organized a delegation of 26 college students from Nagoya University, Gifu University, Central University, Meisho University, Gifu Prefectural University, Aichi Institute of Technology, Gifu Pharmaceutical University, etc., from the central region of Japan, to visit Yunnan Province from September 7th to 12th, 2025.

On September 8, Wang Yu, the full-time vice president of the Provincial Association for Foreign Friendship, had a work exchange with the delegation. Wang Yu briefly introduced the economic and social development, opening up to the outside world, and the exchanges and cooperation between Yunnan and Japan, especially the youth exchanges. She stated that China held memorial activities for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world's anti-fascist war in order to remember history, commemorate the martyrs, cherish peace, and create the future. The Soka Gakkai advocates world peace and plays an important role in the friendly exchanges between China and Japan. The Japanese delegation stated that Yunnan Province has a significant diversity of characteristics, with harmonious coexistence among ethnic minorities, embodying the wisdom of learning from and respecting different cultures. The delegation's visit allows for in-depth communication with young people in Yunnan, personally experiencing a true, three-dimensional, and comprehensive China, understanding the historical origins of friendly exchanges between Japan and China, and愿将所见所闻分享给 Japanese youth friends, contributing to the promotion of practical cooperation between Yunnan Province and Japan in cultural education, ecological conservation, AI technology, and other aspects.

During the visit to Yunnan, the delegation had exchanges with teachers and students of Yunnan universities around the theme of "China-Japan Friendship" and "Cherishing Peace", visited the former site of the National Southwest Associated University, Yunnan Ethnic Village, Shilin Geopark, Kunming Botanical Garden, iFLYTEK Artificial Intelligence Experience Hall, Railway Museum, and went to Jinping County, Honghe State to understand the situation of rural revitalization and ethnic integration.
