On August 27, the "Heart-to-Heart Yunnan Tour" Yunnan Province's Sixth International Students Cultural Exchange Week and "iYunnan" Cultural Experience Activities, hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Lijiang Municipal People's Government, were launched in Lijiang. Zhao Panfeng, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and Wang Yu, full-time vice president of the Yunnan Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Gao Ping, member of the Standing Committee of the Lijiang Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, attended and delivered a welcome speech. 60 Chinese and foreign young students from six universities including Kunming Medical University and Yunnan Agricultural University, and from 21 countries including the United States, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Laos participated.


The event promoted the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that young people from all over the world in the new era are the "civilian ambassadors" of exchanges between countries. It is hoped that everyone will experience the theme of "Love Yunnan" through immersive experience, perceive Chinese traditional culture, make friends, learn from each other, and show China's reform and opening up to the world from different perspectives and discourse systems, share the developing Yunnan, become a bridge and messenger of friendship between China and foreign countries, sow the seeds of friendship for future cooperative development, and use youth to jointly write a new chapter in the era of world youth unity and cooperation.

At the opening ceremony, Tao Feike, a representative of Yemeni international students from Kunming Medical University, said in his speech: "Ten years ago, I met a medical team from China in Yemen. They were committed to providing international medical assistance and helping my hometown develop. Their spirit of saving the dying and helping others made me stand in awe and feel grateful. It is this selfless dedication across national borders that made me firmly choose to study medicine in China." Huang Zhenai, a Burmese international student from Yunnan Nationalities University, said at the youth exchange sharing session: "My major in China is Chinese language education. I hope that through studying in China, I can continuously deepen my understanding of Chinese culture, especially the rich ethnic culture of Yunnan. In the future, I can apply the knowledge and skills I have learned to the field of Chinese language education in Myanmar, improve the quality of Chinese language education, and make due contributions to the overseas development of Chinese language education."It is reported that this event is themed "Gathering youthful power to promote the integration of civilizations" and will organize international students to go to Lijiang and Kunming to experience intangible cultural heritage such as Naxi Dongba paintings, carry out ecological civilization volunteer services, plant international youth forests, visit museums, investigate the development of Yunnan's flower industry, etc., for a six-day cultural exchange and study activity.
