On May 17, 2023, the "2023 China-CEEC Mayors Forum" sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Ningbo Municipal People's Government was successfully held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.The cooperation achievements between Yunnan Province and Romania and Hungary were selected and displayed in the "China-Central and Eastern European Countries Urban Cooperation Project Exhibition", which attracted the guests to stop and watch.This project exhibition selects 6 provinces and 16 cities across the country to actively play the role of sister city platforms and deepen friendship with Central and Eastern European countries.Live cases of practical cooperation were presented and shared with Chinese and foreign guests.

In November 2015, Yunnan Province and Romania's Timis Province became sister provinces.Under the high attention and promotion of the leaders of the two provinces, the two sides have carried out fruitful friendly exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, medical care and health.Under the framework of sister city relationship, Yunnan Agricultural University signed cooperation documents with Bennet University of Agricultural Science and Technology in Romania, Yunnan Provincial Cancer Hospital and Cancer Research Center of Timis Province in Romania and actively carried out mutually beneficial cooperation.
In November 2017, Yunnan Province and Hungary's Bac-Kirskon State became sister provinces and states.Since the establishment of the friendship, there have been frequent exchanges of visits between the two sides, and the friendship between the two peoples has continued to deepen.In November 2022, the two provinces and prefectures will jointly hold the 5th Anniversary Celebration and Pei Duofei Poetry Exchange Meeting to build bridges with poetry, share friendship and promote cooperation.
