Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

To thoroughly implement the frontline work method, strengthen guidance for the Friendship Association of Honghe Prefecture, and integrate resources from international youth exchange and foreign affairs visits, on January 29-31, 2024, Wang Yu, the full-time Vice President of the Provincial Friendship Association, led a working group to Honghe Prefecture to attend the "2024 China-Vietnam Cross-Border Spring Festival Gala and Border People's Grand Carnival" and conduct research.

On January 31, Vice President Wang Yu held a work exchange with Lü Jin, Standing Committee Member and Vice Governor of Honghe Prefecture. Wang Yu introduced the key tasks of the Friendship Association in 2024, expressing hope to jointly carry out international youth exchanges and international friendship city interactions with Honghe Prefecture. Wang Yu thanked the Honghe Prefectural Party Committee and the prefectural government for placing high importance on people-to-people diplomacy. He urged them to fully leverage Honghe Prefecture's geographical advantages and rich experience in conducting exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam, strengthen the construction of friendship city institutions, and engage in exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam through multiple channels and broad fields, thereby serving the strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Lu Jin stated that Honghe Prefecture has outstanding advantages in border opening-up. In recent years, it has engaged in in-depth cooperation with the Provincial Foreign Friendship Association, jointly hosting the "China-Vietnam Cross-Border Spring Festival Gala and Border People's Grand Gala" event, which has been highly favored by both official and grassroots sectors in China and Vietnam. This has continuously enhanced mutual trust and exchanges among the border region and its people in areas such as culture, economy, ports, and youth. Moving forward, we look forward to jointly organizing characteristic international friendship city and grassroots diplomacy activities with the Provincial Foreign Friendship Association to continuously enhance Honghe Prefecture's international influence and serve the construction of China's radiation center towards South and Southeast Asia.

During his research visit to Jianshui and a symposium with relevant departments, Wang Yu stated that Jianshui County has a rich cultural heritage and a unique intangible cultural heritage of purple pottery. He emphasized the need to leverage the county's distinctive characteristics, integrate resources from all parties, and create outward-facing routes and visiting sites with strong participation and excellent experiential value, thereby expanding broader opportunities for opening up and cooperation to boost the new development of border opening-up in Honghe Prefecture.
