In 2024, the Provincial Council of Friendship Association for Foreign Affairs adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially Xi Jinping's diplomatic thought, and focused on building more "four bridges" of folk exchanges, pragmatic cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship, carried out folk exchanges in all aspects, multi-level and wide areas, deepened the friendship between the people of Yunnan and the people of all countries in the world, continuously expanded practical cooperation in various fields, and effectively served the overall national diplomacy and the economic and social development of the whole province.

With the strong support of directors of various units, the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Affairs will release a series of excellent work cases for some directors, aiming to show and share the practical experience and exploration results of directors of various units, promote mutual learning and mutual learning, and promote the work of the council continuously to open up new situations and write new chapters through typical guidance, demonstration and leading the way, and point-to-face, to ensure that the implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during his inspection of Yunnan is effective.

The Yunnan Federation of Literary and Art Circles focuses on the overall work of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, based on the organizational advantages and professional advantages of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles, uses literature and art to help Yunnan's radiation center toward South Asia and Southeast Asia, enhance exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, actively promote the exchange and dissemination of foreign cultures, and strive to promote mutual understanding between China and foreign people and build a foundation of friendship.

Build a foreign cultural exchange service platform

Give full play to the platform resources of Yunnan Literature and Art Museum venues, exhibitions and other platforms, hold various exhibitions and exhibition activities, and attract audiences at home and abroad to participate in the exhibition. Since October 2024, the Yunnan International Friendship City Picture Exhibition, hosted by the Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and hosted by the Yunnan Literary and Art Museum and the Yunnan Folk International Friendship Exchange Foundation, has set up eight chapters: preface, Asia, America, Europe, Oceania, Africa, "Heart Connection, Yunnan Travel" and concluding remarks, showing the exchanges, cooperation achievements, folk diplomacy and other situations of Yunnan Province, and building a friendship bridge that allows the world to understand Yunnan and let Yunnan go to the world. Received delegations from Singapore New China Association, Overseas Chinese Middle School and other delegations, Indian Youth Delegation composed of well-known reciters, dancers, singers in Kolkata, India, and Chinese teachers from Indian International University, and Northeast India Music Industry Delegation, visited the Yunnan Literature and Art Museum, and organized representatives of Yunnan Province's literary and artists to communicate, dialogue and perform interaction with the delegation.

Expand the dimensions of foreign cultural exchanges and cooperation

By organizing visits, receiving visiting teams, organizing in-depth exchanges between well-known literary and artists and visitors, and trying their best to promote new cultural exchanges and cooperation methods and achievements, forming a virtuous cycle of "using literature and art to promote exchanges, and using exchanges to promote cooperation." In 2024, a 30-person singing and dancing team was sent to Macau to participate in the 2024 "Spring of the Haojiang River - Macau and Mainland Artists Gala" event, publicizing and demonstrating China's excellent traditional culture to Macau compatriots and the vast number of domestic and foreign audiences, and showing the charm of Yunnan singing and dancing art and the good image of Yunnan literary and artistic workers. At the invitation of the Writers Association of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lumo Publishing House of Serbia, Lei Pingyang, Vice Chairman of the Yunnan Writers Association, visited Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia with a delegation of Chinese writers, and participated in the 9th International Literature Conference and the "Open Prize" Award Ceremony, "China Modern Poetry Dialogue Sharing Session" and other activities. The opening ceremony promoted and introduced the delegation of Chinese writers as important guests. The Confucius Institute in Banya Luka held a special promotion event for the delegation, and awarded its most important poetry award "Opening Prize" to Lei Pingyang, a Chinese poet and vice chairman of the Yunnan Writers Association.

Improve the international communication effect of brand activities

We will work with relevant provincial departments and link with relevant prefectures and cities in the province to jointly promote the high-quality holding of international brand cultural activities within the province, and systematically enhance the depth and breadth of folk cultural exchanges. Promote high-quality holding of brand activities such as Dali International Film Festival, Lancang-Mekong International Film Week, Kunming Art Biennale, "Mekong River Literature Award", and "A Big River" Xishuangbanna International Image Exhibition. In 2024, the Yunnan Film Association took the opportunity of the China-Cambodia Cultural Exchange Year to actively assist in successfully hosting the 6th Lancang-Mekong International Film Week in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. More than 700 well-known filmmakers from six countries in the Lancang-Mekong Basin participated, and 20 river basin films were screened in 40 public screenings. The 12th Xishuangbanna International Image Exhibition, which was participated by the Yunnan Provincial Photo Association, carefully selected classic works by 50 national photographers in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin and outstanding works by domestic photographers for display. The number of visitors in one week exceeded 50,000. The event played a positive role in further telling China's stories, spreading China's voice, and displaying a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive China.
