This event was jointly hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Yunnan Provincial Association of People's Friendship with Foreign Countries, the CPC Diquing County Committee, and the Diquing County People's Government, and was co-organized by the Diquing County Committee of the Communist Youth League, the County Foreign Affairs Office, the County Culture and Tourism Bureau, and the Shangri-La City Culture and Tourism Bureau. The organization aims to bring overseas Chinese students to Diquing, build a bridge for dialogue between Chinese and foreign youth, and promote the mutual exchange and learning of diverse cultures.

At the opening ceremony, Zhao Panfeng pointed out that this year's exchange week isUnder the theme of "Chinese and foreign youth know and cherish each other, mutually learn from each other's civilizations, and walk together in pursuit of dreams," for the first time, we entered Diqing and Shangri-La. We led everyone to revisit the red memories, experience intangible cultural heritage, appreciate the beauty of the ecosystem, and share youth dreams. We hope that Chinese and foreign youth will strive to become ambassadors of mutual learning and mutual appreciation, mutually studying and appreciating the cultural essence of different countries; strive to be windows that understand China, telling the world a true, three-dimensional, and comprehensive China; and strive to be bridges for the inheritance of friendship, injecting an inexhaustible source of youthful energy into the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Wang Yu stated that General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, "The foundation of national relations lies in the people's friendship, and the people's friendship must start with the youth." The youth are precisely the most vibrant and dynamic force in the cause of people-to-people friendship. International students are not only witnesses to China's development but also ambassadors of China-foreign friendship. We hope that young friends will sincerely experience the unique charm of the cultures of the various ethnic groups in Yunnan, personally feel the practical achievements of Chinese modernization in Yunnan, and bring back what they have seen, heard, felt, and understood to their own countries, serving as bridges and ambassadors for mutual understanding among the people.

In her speech, Yu Guifen stated that this event is designed to build a platform for mutual learning and integration between youth from Diqing and international students studying in Yunnan. She hopes that young scholars from various countries will immerse themselves in the charm of Diqing's multi-ethnic culture, experience the vast and inclusive nature of Chinese civilization, take back what they have seen and heard in Diqing to their home countries, tell the Chinese story well, and convey the deep friendship between China and foreign countries.

The opening ceremony of this event also features a cultural performance segment, with programs such as ethnic songs and dances, recitations, and instrumental music taking turns to appear, collectively showcasing the vibrant and colorful ethnic cultural landscape.
