Internal working platform of Yunnan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

From January 16th to 20th, a delegation of four people from the International Trade, Industry and Investment Department of the Sarawak State Government in Malaysia, led by Deputy Secretary-General Luo Xiaoxia, visited Yunnan to promote practical cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and investment between the two provinces and states.

On January 19th, Wang Yu, Vice President of the Provincial Association for Foreign Friendship, had a working exchange with the delegation. Wang Yu introduced the achievements of economic and social development in Yunnan Province and stated that since the establishment of international friendly city relations between Yunnan Province and Sarawak State in 2017, the two provinces and states have frequently visited each other, and the results of economic and trade, cultural and educational, tourism and other fields of cooperation have been fruitful. The common historical emotional links such as "Zheng He" and "Nanyao Jigong" have been continuously strengthened, and the connotation of friendly city relations has been enriched. It is hoped that both sides will give full play to the advantages of geographical proximity, similar humanities and complementary resources, continuously tap the potential for multi-field cooperation, and inject new vitality into the sustainable development of friendly provincial and state relations.

Luo Xia said the brief visit to Yunnan was very fruitful. By delving into the resource economy and industrial park economy of Yunnan, focusing on learning the management model of industrial parks, investment promotion mechanism, cross-border e-commerce and digital economy model, innovative business form system and enterprise support services, it has explored paths and laid a foundation for further enhancing mutual understanding, promoting practical cooperation and consolidating friendly relations.

During the visit to Yunnan, the delegation visited the Kunming High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone, Chenggong New District, and the corridor on the west coast of Dianchi Lake, to fully understand the economic and social development of Yunnan Province and explore cooperation opportunities.
