On March 30, a video conference was held at the signing ceremony of the letter of intent to develop sister-city relations between Kunming and Armenia, Republic of Colombia.

On October 28, 2021, Kunming City and the City of Armenia, Republic of Colombia signed the "Letter of Intent on Developing Sister City Relations between Kunming City of the People's Republic of China and Armenia City, Colombia" by postal signature, jointly taking a key step in friendly exchanges between the two cities. It has laid a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation between the two cities in education, sports, agriculture, economy and trade, culture and tourism.
