Video conference held for the signing ceremony of the Letter of Intent to Establish a Sister City Relationship between Kunming City and Armenia, Colombia on March 30.

Sun Qun, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, the Chinese Ambassador to Colombia Lan Hu, the Colombian Ambassador to China Luis Monsalve, Armenian Mayor José Manuel Ríos Morales, and officials from the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the video conference.

On October 28, 2021, Kunming City and Armenia, Colombia, signed the "Letter of Intent on Developing Friendly City Relations between Kunming City, People's Republic of China, and Armenia, Colombia" via postal channels, taking a crucial step forward in the friendly exchanges between the two cities and laying a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation between them in areas such as education, sports, agriculture, economy and trade, culture, and tourism.

Yerevan and Kunming share similar backgrounds in agricultural and sports development, creating a natural advantage for exchanges and cooperation between the two cities. It is hoped that the friendship between the two cities will be further deepened in the future, promoting the establishment of a long-term and comprehensive cooperative relationship, and achieving the common prosperity and development of both cities.

It is a great pleasure that the two cities can get closer and understand each other. This is a crucial step in the friendly interaction between the two cities, laying a solid foundation for their future exchanges and interactions.

According to the letter of intent, the two parties will further strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation, actively develop and establish formal sister city relations;At the same time, cooperation and exchanges will be carried out in fields such as education, sports, agriculture, economy and trade, culture, and tourism; the two cities will maintain mutual visits and regular contact through government delegations to conduct in-depth research and discussions on areas of intended cooperation, with the aim of jointly formulating specific cooperation projects, contents, and methods; the two municipal governments will also designate a representative institution each to maintain close and regular contact.
