After the earthquake, Wang Ning, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, immediately commanded and dispatched the work of earthquake relief and disaster relief in our province and made arrangements and deployments; Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, put forward specific requirements for related work. Our province dispatched the first batch of rescue medical teams overnight and mobilized materials to rush to Myanmar for emergency assistance.The Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, in conjunction with the Provincial Emergency Department, Provincial Health Commission, China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Company and other units, cooperated efficiently. In the early morning of the 29th, a group of 37 people from China's Yunnan rescue medical team carried full-function life detectors, earthquake early warning systems, drones and other emergency rescue equipment, as well as tents, folding beds, medicines and other materials. They took the China Eastern Airlines chartered flight from Kunming Changshui International Airport to the disaster area and arrived at the Yangon International Airport in Myanmar at around 7 a.m. local time. They were the first international rescue team to arrive in Myanmar and the first batch of international aid materials to arrive. Immediately afterwards, the Yunnan rescue medical team drove for more than 9 hours without stopping to the Naypyidaw disaster area for rescue. At 5 a.m. local time on the 30th, an exciting news came from the Yunnan rescue medical team in China, which was constantly conducting search and rescue: an old man buried in the ruins for nearly 40 hours was successfully rescued. This is the first survivor rescued by Chinese rescue forces after they arrived in the disaster area. The Yunnan rescue medical team is also the first international medical team to join the local medical rescue, quickly participating in guiding the medical treatment work in the disaster area, and timely consulting with the Myanmar health department for epidemic prevention. At present, Yunnan rescue medical team continues to carry out search and rescue on site in disaster areas, and assists the local area in environmental disinfection, epidemic prevention and control.

On the afternoon of the 28th, less than three hours after the earthquake occurred, Yunnan Province immediately arranged to prepare the first phase of aid materials worth 5 million yuan. The first batch of 5 tons of materials arrived in Myanmar with the Yunnan rescue medical team on the 29th. On the 30th and 31st, the second batch of about 8 tons and the third batch of about 15 tons of disaster relief materials, including medicines, food, tents, folding beds, mosquito nets and epidemic prevention materials, were successively transported to Myanmar. Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture also donated 1.1 million yuan worth of materials and customs clearance from Ruili Port to the disaster area in Myanmar.

All sectors of society in our province actively donated money and materials and provided assistance to Myanmar disaster areas. As of 17:00 on the 31st, the Provincial Red Cross Society has raised 920,000 yuan and materials worth 300,000 yuan; the Yunnan Yunnan Commercial Federation donated medical supplies and other materials worth more than 1 million yuan, and arrived in Myanmar on the afternoon of the 31st.
