From July 14 to 21, 2025, a 20-member youth delegation composed of teachers and students from the Affiliated High School of Yunnan Minzu University, organized by the Yunnan Provincial Association for Foreign Exchange, set foot on the soil of Iwate Prefecture, Japan, embarking on an 8-day friendly exchange journey. This is not only a cultural encounter but also a vivid practice of passing down friendship between the two regions. The winds of Dianchi meet the waves of Iwate, the passion of the South of the Colorful Clouds collides with the sincerity of the Land of Cherry Blossoms, and a story of youth exchange spanning mountains and seas plays out warmly this summer.

The delegation's visit was highly valued by the Iwate Prefecture government. Iwate Governor Tatsuya Takemoto warmly engaged in a frank discussion with the delegation on China-Japan friendship, youthYouth exchanges and other activities saw 16 students awarded "Iwate Friendship Ambassador" certificates, with the message that youth from both regions should strengthen their understanding, learn from each other, and grow together. A special welcome banquet was hosted by Mr. Murakami, Director of the Hometown Revitalization Department of Iwate Prefecture, where they shared warm moments from years of friendly exchanges. Through their practical actions, the two regions proved that the seeds of friendship have long taken root and sprouted in the soil of mutual trust.

Footprints and laughter of Yunnan youth have been left on the campuses of three high schools in Iwate Prefecture. Witnessing the collision of educational philosophies during classroom observations at Nanchang Future High School, the affiliated junior high school of Ikawa First High School, and Fushimi High School, hearing the resonance of youth in talent showcases, and breaking down language barriers through interactive games. When Yunnan's ethnic songs and dances meet Japan's traditional musical instruments, and when the school uniforms of both sides are captured in a photograph, the word "friend" finds its most vivid definition.
