The beautiful nature always brings endless inspiration to poets and writers of all ages.In November 2022, in order to celebrate the 200th birthday of Petofi Santor, Yunnan Province and Hungary's Bac-Kirskon Prefecture jointly held the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the relationship and the Hungarian poet Petofi's poetry exchange meeting.
Nature has always been inspiring for poets and writers. On the occasion of the bicentenary of Petőfi's birth in November 2022, Yunnan and Bács-Kiskun jointly held a poetry event to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their friendly relations.
At the meeting, people from both sides performed bilingual poetry readings.Teachers and students of Yunnan University for Nationalities integrated landscape elements into Yunnan folk dances for performances, and interpreted the portrait of Pei Duofei in paper-cut paintings.Tian Fengtai, a young Chinese writer, shared his love and understanding of Pei Duofei's poems: "Poetry has no national boundaries, but poets have their own motherland. Mr. Lu Xun first introduced Pei Duofei's poems to China, and pointed out Pei Duofei's Fei is a national poet who "sings for love and dies for the country". Since then, Pe Tofi's poetry has been highly respected in China, and because of the sister state relationship between Yunnan Province and Bach-Kishkon State, His poems are more popular in Yunnan."
During the event, attendees from both sides chanted Petőfi's poems in Chinese and Hungarian. Students and teachers from Yunnan Minzu University incorporated elements of mountains and rivers into their folk dances and created Petőfi portraits via paper-cutting and pencil sketch.
Chinese young writer Tian Fengtai shared his view on Petőfi's poems: "Poetry knows no national boundaries, but poets have their own nations. Lu Xun was the first to introduce Petőfi's poems to China, noting Petőfi was a national poet who 'sang for love and died for the country’.
