Qushui Town of Jiangcheng County has established friendly townships (towns) with Qingtou Township and Lianshang Township of Mengnien County, Vietnam; Mengkang Village of Kangping Town, Jiangcheng County, has established friendly villages with Yau Village of Yau County, Laos; and Niuhuahe Village of Menglie Town, Jiangcheng County, has established friendly villages with Malitou Village of Yau County, Laos. The establishment of friendly villages and friendly townships (towns) in the China-Laos and China-Vietnam border regions has strongly maintained the harmonious and stable border between the two countries, laying a solid foundation for creating a friendly, harmonious, developed, and prosperous border.

A cumulative total of 37,000 mu of farmland has been converted into forests and grasslands, 340,000 mu of artificial forests have been planted, 766,500 mu of ecological public welfare forests have been managed, and 1.32 million mu of natural forests have been protected from logging.
